Ash & Glint is powered by Shopify, which enables us to provide the Services to you.

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use and disclose your personal information when you visit, use, or make a purchase using the Services, or otherwise communicate with us. If there is a conflict between our Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy, this Privacy Policy controls with respect to the collection, processing and disclosure of your personal information.

Personal information we collect or process

When we use the term "personal information," we mean information that identifies or can reasonably be linked to you or another person. It does not include information collected anonymously or de-identified so that it cannot identify or be reasonably linked to you.

Depending on how you interact with the Services and as permitted or required by applicable law, we may collect or process:

• Contact details including your name, billing address, shipping address, phone number and email address.
• Financial information including payment card and financial account details, transaction details, form of payment and payment confirmation.
• Account information including your username, password, preferences and settings.
• Transaction information including the items you view, add to your cart, or purchase, return, exchange or cancel, and your past transactions.
• Communications with us including what you write to us, for example in a support enquiry.
• Device information including your device, browser, network connection, IP address and other unique identifiers.

We never see your card. Payments are processed by Razorpay Software Private Limited. Your card, UPI and bank details go to them directly and are never stored on our systems.

Where this information comes from

• Directly from you, when you create an account, use the Services, communicate with us, or otherwise give us your personal information.
• Automatically through the Services, from your device and through cookies and similar technologies.
• From our service providers, when we engage them to enable certain technology or when they process personal information on our behalf.

How we use it

• To provide, tailor and improve the Services. To perform our contract with you, process your payments, fulfil your orders, remember your preferences, notify you about your account, process purchases, returns, exchanges and other transactions, manage your account, arrange shipping, and handle returns, exchanges and repairs.
• Marketing and advertising. To send marketing and promotional communications by email, and to show you online advertisements for our products on the Services or other websites, including based on items you have previously viewed, purchased or added to your cart.
• Security and fraud prevention. To authenticate your account, provide a secure payment and shopping experience, detect or investigate fraudulent, unlawful or malicious activity, and secure our Services. How we disclose personal information

• With Shopify, and with vendors and other third parties who perform services on our behalf — payment processing, delivery, IT management, data analytics, customer support and cloud storage.
• With Razorpay Software Private Limited, to take and reconcile payments and to process refunds.
• With our courier, to deliver your order.
• With business and marketing partners, to provide marketing services and advertise to you. For example, we use Shopify to support personalised advertising with third-party services based on your online activity with different merchants and websites. These partners use your information in accordance with their own privacy notices. Depending on where you live, you may have a right to direct us not to share information about you for targeted advertising.
• When you ask us to, or consent to disclosure, such as to ship you an order.
• In connection with a business transaction such as a merger, to comply with legal obligations including subpoenas and similar requests, to enforce our terms or policies, and to protect the Services, our rights and the rights of our users or others.

We do not sell your personal information.

Our relationship with Shopify

The Services are hosted by Shopify, which collects and processes personal information about your access to and use of the Services in order to provide and improve them. Information you submit is transmitted to and shared with Shopify, and with third parties that may be located in countries other than where you live.

We also use certain Shopify enhanced features that incorporate data obtained from your interactions with our store, with other merchants, and with Shopify. To provide these features Shopify may use personal information collected about those interactions. In those circumstances Shopify is responsible for the processing of your personal information, including for responding to requests to exercise your rights over it. Cookies

We use cookies that are necessary for the cart and checkout to work, and analytics and advertising cookies that help us understand how the site is used and show you our products elsewhere. You can refuse non-essential cookies through the banner or your browser settings, and refusing them does not stop you buying.

Marketing emails

We email you only if you asked us to. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link and it works immediately. Order confirmations, shipping notices and replies to your questions are not marketing and continue regardless.

Third-party websites and links

The Services may link to websites operated by third parties. If you follow them, review their own privacy and security policies. We are not responsible for the privacy or security of those sites, or for the accuracy of information found on them. Our inclusion of a link does not imply endorsement.

Children

The Services are not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you are the parent or guardian of a child who has given us their personal information, contact us using the details below and we will delete it.

Security

This site runs over TLS. Access to order data is restricted to people who need it. No security measure is perfect, and information sent to us may not be secure in transit, so please do not use unsecured channels to send us sensitive information. If a breach affects your personal data we will notify you and the Data Protection Board as the law requires.

Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may ask us to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you, and a summary of how it is processed
• Correct data that is inaccurate, and complete data that is incomplete
• Erase personal data we no longer need for the purpose it was collected
• Withdraw a consent you previously gave us, at any time
• Nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf if you are unable to

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have equivalent rights under the GDPR, including portability, and may complain to your local supervisory authority.

We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.

International transfers

We may transfer, store and process your personal information outside the country you live in, including through Shopify's infrastructure. Where we transfer personal information out of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on recognised transfer mechanisms such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, or the equivalent issued by the relevant UK authority, unless the destination has been found to provide an adequate level of protection.

In accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we acknowledge every complaint within 48 hours and resolve it within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response you may escalate to the Data Protection Board of India, or, depending on where you live, to your local data protection authority.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or for operational, legal or regulatory reasons. We will post the revised policy here, update the "Last updated" date, and give notice where the law requires it.
